Pasta Carbonara

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 (16 ounce) box spaghetti
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 lb bacon
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 -3 tablespoons wine vinegar
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cook pasta according to package directions.
  • 2 drain quickly and place back into pot. immediately stir in the egg and let stand.
  • 3 slice bacon into small cubes and cook until almost crispy. don't drain bacon fat.
  • 4 add butter and let it melt.
  • 5 warm milk in microwave and add to butter/bacon mixture.
  • 6 add vinegar and stir until curdled mixture starts to thicken.
  • 7 continue stirring occasionally until sauce becomes smooth.
  • 8 pour thickened mixture over pasta in pot.
  • 9 add parmesan cheese.
  • 10 stir to combine.
  • 11 salt and pepper to taste.
