Pasta Shells With Light Marinara Sauce

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced
  • 1 1/2 lbs tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil
  • 8 ounces pasta shells

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil and sauté onion and garlic. add tomatoes and stir to combine. cover and simmer, about 15 minutes.
  • 2 meanwhile cook pasta. drain.
  • 3 in food processor, puree tomato sauce. season with salt and pepper. stir in basil. toss with pasta.
