Pasta Shells With Light Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- 1 1/2 lbs tomatoes, seeded and chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil
- 8 ounces pasta shells
Recipe
- 1 heat oil and sauté onion and garlic. add tomatoes and stir to combine. cover and simmer, about 15 minutes.
- 2 meanwhile cook pasta. drain.
- 3 in food processor, puree tomato sauce. season with salt and pepper. stir in basil. toss with pasta.
