Pomodoro And Basilico Sauce With Gnocchi

Ingredients

- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 15 basil leaves, finely shredded or 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 16 ounces plum tomatoes, diced
- salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 16 ounces gnocchi (italian potato noodles)
Recipe
- 1 heat olive oil in a saucepan and cook the onion, garlic, and mushrooms until soft.
- 2 add the diced tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
- 3 add the basil, salt and pepper.
- 4 cook the gnocchi as directed on package. drain well. toss the gnocchi with the sauce and sprinkle with the parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
- 5 put under the broiler to melt the cheese. enjoy!
