Pomodoro And Basilico Sauce With Gnocchi

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 15 basil leaves, finely shredded or 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 16 ounces plum tomatoes, diced
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 16 ounces gnocchi (italian potato noodles)

Recipe

  • 1 heat olive oil in a saucepan and cook the onion, garlic, and mushrooms until soft.
  • 2 add the diced tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
  • 3 add the basil, salt and pepper.
  • 4 cook the gnocchi as directed on package. drain well. toss the gnocchi with the sauce and sprinkle with the parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
  • 5 put under the broiler to melt the cheese. enjoy!
