Easy Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (half of a cream cheese block)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 cup milk, divided
  • 3 ounces mozzarella cheese, grated or 3 ounces parmesan cheese
  • 1 dash ground black pepper

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat.
  • 2 add cream cheese and garlic salt, stirring with wire whisk until smooth.
  • 3 add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps.
  • 4 stir in mozzarella or parmesan cheese and pepper.
  • 5 remove from heat when sauce reaches desired consistency.
  • 6 sauce will thicken rapidly; thin with milk if cooked too long.
  • 7 toss with hot pasta to serve.
