Pasta With Tomatoes, Peas And Cream

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb pasta (we like penne)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 10 ounces frozen peas
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaf, chopped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Recipe

  • 1 cook pasta in boiling, salted water until al dente.
  • 2 about a minute before the pasta is finished, add the frozen peas to the boiling water.
  • 3 drain pasta and peas.
  • 4 meanwhile, cook chopped onion in olive oil over medium heat until tender.
  • 5 add diced tomatoes, basil, cream, salt and the pepper flakes.
  • 6 stir and heat, but do not boil.
  • 7 serve sauce over pasta.
