Pasta With Tomatoes, Peas And Cream

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 lb pasta (we like penne)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cans diced tomatoes
- 10 ounces frozen peas
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaf, chopped
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Recipe
- 1 cook pasta in boiling, salted water until al dente.
- 2 about a minute before the pasta is finished, add the frozen peas to the boiling water.
- 3 drain pasta and peas.
- 4 meanwhile, cook chopped onion in olive oil over medium heat until tender.
- 5 add diced tomatoes, basil, cream, salt and the pepper flakes.
- 6 stir and heat, but do not boil.
- 7 serve sauce over pasta.
